What's the true meaning of Christmas/Hanukkah too you?

Inspired by the 1000 dollars worth of Christmas gifts, lol. What is the true meaning of Christmas too you excluding the gifts, also if you are Jewish what is the true meaning of Hanukkah to you. What's the true meaning of Christmas/Hanukkah too you?
ah... I love Hanukkah :).

Hanukkah to me is having the whole family get together eating dinner, with your father who's telling bad jokes and your kooky grandmother who repeats the same childhood stories all the time. It's eating greasy food but not caring because it tastes so good, and fighting with siblings over who won in a game of dreidel. Huh.. Now that I think about it, my family is quite the stereotypical Jewish family. :DWhat's the true meaning of Christmas/Hanukkah too you?
Christmas to me is sneaking my presents under my bed so my family can't see them before they are wrapped. Christmas to me is the smell of the Christmas tree and the sentimental ornaments that cast such a beautiful glow next to the lights. Christmas to me is a good friend of mine's annual gingerbread party. Christmas to me is preparing for the Nutcraker. Christmas to me is making ruglach cookies, a tradition unique to our family, as we celebrate Christmas and ruglach are Jewish. Christmas to me is carols. Christmas to me is wrapping presents and trying to sneak around the store without my mother seeing what I am buying her.

I am not particularly religious, and Christmas is a cultural thing in my family, so this is what Christmas means to me.
Allow me to clarify every Jewish holiday:

Some country wants to persecute/enslave/kill us all, God intervenes, we escape, and now we eat to celebrate it.

yeah. Hanukkah (thanks for spelling it right by the way) isn't really anymore special than any of the other Jewish holidays. In fact, it would be a minor one if it didn't happen to coincide with Christmas and have presents.

There's the facts for ya.
The thing I like is our society being able to come together and celebrate holidays not just indivually but everyone and how at this time of year everyone has a bigger sense of community and happiness abou them to help everyone else. It just makes me so happy through the coldest times everyone has te warmest hearts.
I celebrate both since half my family is Jewish and the other half is Christian. To me it's spending time with the family you dont see often to catch up with your lives. i cant lie, i like the presents too

holla, i take that offensive.
Christmas to me is...seeing my whole family together. And of course the feast (my dad's stuffing is something I look forward to the whole year...mmmm) And the presents :D

And of course, Jesus (you thought I forgot, didn't you??)
Christmas to me is just hanging out with family and friends, doing stuff that normally we'd be too busy to do together like decorating the house and baking. :)
Family
FAMILY

i love them %26lt;3
Jesus is the reason for the season.
Getting presents and money...free!

Oh yes, I said what we're all thinking :)
To me, it's nothing. Bad memories of my relatives not paying attention to me and sending me upstairs to hang out with the other kids, while they were guests at MY house. So fun!

I don't even like Christmas. I'd go so far as to say I dislike it.

I used to say family, but being honest, because I have social anxiety disorder, I'm too afraid to speak to them and I feel ugly around them. I'm not close to any of them at all. They may as well be strangers, except I know I'm related to them and see them quite often.
