Does my mom's drunk talk actually have a true meaning?

today my mom and stepdad went out to eat at chilis and had some drinks. my mom had more than my step dad, so he drove home. i wasnt there, but it was obvious. when she came home she gave me and my sister a speech about how we cant have sex until we are 18, and we cant kiss till we are 17. i am 13 and my sister is 11. of course, we dont think about sex, but we both wonder about kissing. anyways, she said that she loves parties, and we can have parties whenever we want. but idk if that is entirely true. anyways, she also said as long as we are under her roof, we can drink beer. only one, me and my sister would share. and only if we wanted to, she said that she wouldnt have a problem. now, i dont want to drink, and after my sister tried it, she doesnt either. my mom is not an alcoholic, she drinks occasionally. she never does drugs and says if we do she will actually kick our asses. but we are not stupid enough to do drugs anyway. my mom is 30, and she said we have a choice to drink beer or not to. she also said that when we have parties, all rules that apply to us apply to them as well, so they could too. but only one. and they have to sleep over, and cant smell like beer. does this mean anything? do you think she meant it? i am not an expert, so i cant tell by looking how many drinks she had, but it was a couple. she has only talked to us like this once before, and she kept calling us ';her babies.'; it was sort of scary and funny at the same time, but also serious. she isnt a bad person, is she? i dont think so, since she only drinks occasionally.





i really hope and pray it was just the drunk and booze talking.

Of course she's not a bad person, if she actually meant what she said then it was probably only because she loves you a lot and doesn't want you to grow up etc, hence why she might be calling you her babies and stuff. She only drinks occasionally, most other people do as well, so it's fine i guess.





Course this depends whether you actually agree on the whole 'one beer at parties' and 'no kissing until 17'. To be honest, my mother thinks the same way, but i'm fine with it for now, so we're all happy xD.





But if you're not, I guess the best thing for you to do is just to talk to her about it and tell her what you think, preferably when she hasn't had any drinks.
