Is it true that vermicelli pasta means ';small worms'; in Italian?

how am I ever to eat this again?

Do they really make this stuff from worms? Or was it made of worms in the past?

Defenition:

Vermicelli , from Italian [ve删mi藞t蕛蓻l藧i], lit. ';little worms';) is a type of pasta, round in section and somewhat thinner than spaghetti.

No it isn't worms and never has been! :p Its just pasta named like that because it looks like it.
Please! lets be serious here, if you can't tell the difference between dried worms, and flour, eggs etc, I am sorry for you. I have never seen worms the length of pasta.

Chris
Yes, that's what vermicelli means.

But not because it's MADE from worms but because it LOOKS like worms. Was that not obvious?
