Whats is the true meaning and purpose of ';The Prince'; by Niccolo Machiavelli?

i have been reading this book and i am only 17 years of age. Im in summer school and i have to read an extra activity book and i chose this one not knowing what it was about. So far i have figured out that he has been writing to inform someone (us) about politics and how a prince or president should act to keep his estates and have a strong kingdom also how to benefits from it. Basically its a tutorial to an upcoming world leader but what is the deep meaning hidden messages or thoughts or some huge theme this book is based upon of??Whats is the true meaning and purpose of ';The Prince'; by Niccolo Machiavelli?
The idea that power is the primary motivator of human action, and that the end (of gaining power) justifies any means used, no matter how they fall within moral codes. Machiavelli argued that all men seek to gain and maintain power over others, and he explains the best ways in which to do so. He emphasises the importance of lying and deceiving, and only keep your word when it better suits your longterm purposes. It is not necessarily for evil though; it is simply how he thinks you must deal with other people.

His work is incredibly important for reading political history of manipulation, or even things like ';Othello'; because it helps you understand Iago's methods.

I first read it when I was 17 too and loved it, I hope this helps!
