Those who understand the true meaning of NEOCONSERVATIVE: How do u feel like when the word ';Neocon'; is utter?

Leo Strauss (September 20, 1899 鈥?October 18, 1973) was a German-born Jewish-American political philosopher who specialized in classical political philosophy. He spent most of his career as a professor of political science at the University of Chicago, where he taught several generations of students and published fifteen books. Since his death, he has come to be regarded as one of the intellectual fathers of neoconservatism in the United States.

Strauss noted that myths are needed to give people meaning and purpose and to ensure a stable society or can men dedicated to relentlessly examining. Strauss endorsed noble lies: myths used by political leaders seeking to maintain a cohesive society

I feel they should read the project for the new american century.

I shudder and realize the persons stupidity when Neocon is plastered all over these forums... I know that a REAL neocon is a throw back from the 70's when some of the Liberals thought the then modern Liberalism was straying from it's roots (so to speak) and so Liberals then turned to Conservatism. It was really meant as a slam to those Liberals that took a right turn. Irving Kristol was the first person to embrace the term and call himself a Neoconservative.

Ashcroft, Gingrich, Kissinger, Scooter Libby, Rove and Rumsfeld are all Neoconservatives. Just to name a few prodominate ones in our political system recently.

Conservatism and Neoconservatism are vastly different, as Neoconservatives still hold onto some liberal ideals... especially when it comes to social issues.

Rocket: I think liberalism in the 70's warped the word liberal... else, we wouldn't have neocons like we do today.
I realize the difference between conservative and neocon.

How do I feel when I hear the word? Repulsed. Obviously, right-wingers don't know the difference between extreme right, and conservative, since they think it is only name calling.
I do not feel all warm and fuzzy. It falls way short of the feeling of confidence a mother would show in her child. The right of center is an area where the farther you go out on the limb the shakier your confidence.
Neo-Conservativatism is a radical ideology different from traditional Conservatism. Unfortunately, the Republican party has been taken over by this radical group of people. Real Conservatives have become Independent as a result
Neoconservative=moderate=not really conservative. Obviously Democrats don't know what neocon means when they use it as a put down because being a neoconservative is closer to what they believe.
';Liberal';, ';conservative';, ';neo-conservative';...

None of these words have the same meaning as they originally did. What they mean depends on who's using them.

You can't turn back changes in language and usage. You just end up having silly arguments between people who are trying to make claims about ';real conservatives';, ';real neo-conservatives';, etc.
You guys warped the word ';liberal,'; and Democrats took over the word ';NeoCon.';

Fair's fair.

';I think liberalism in the 70's warped the word liberal... else, we wouldn't have neocons like we do today.';

I don't think so. When Rush Limbaugh got a hold of the word, it became almost a curse word. The greatest insult a Conservative can throw at someone is to call them ';liberal.';
I automatically feel anyone who says neocon is probably an ignorant kool aid drinker and give no further thought to their ramblings.
Proud especially when they utter Fiscal neocon
Liberals call people names.

Some of them are meaningless.
When I hear neocon I think; Aryan Brotherhood,KKK,American Nazi's, etc.

The label is given to anyone who leans right of center at all by the far left liberal media funded by George Soros, Ted Turner and others. Eighty percent of Americans are moderate, leaning slightly left or right of center playing silly word games while sitting by letting either the far right or far left factions take over the present and future prosperity of We The People.

I think I need the bong again is what I think.

And another shot of Quervo!!
