Muslims, is it true that Islam means to make others submit?

When Muslims conquered countries were there were other faiths, they forced them to convert or else die or pay a tax. I guess submission is compulsory?Muslims, is it true that Islam means to make others submit?
Islam means peace. It can also mean submission to God. Nothing about others to submit. I do like you phrasing of the question lol.Muslims, is it true that Islam means to make others submit?
yes in islamic countries people have to pay taxes. It boggles the mind...

seriously though, right now Saudi Arabia is probably the most scary place in the world and it has never been much fun to begin with. But muslim-ruled Spain was a much more tolerant place than christian-ruled Spain a few centuries later. Really pointless to generalize about stuff like that.
whoever believes let them believe, and whoever disbelieve let them disbelieve

29. And say: ';The truth is from your Lord.'; Then whosoever wills, let him believe, and whosoever wills, let him disbelieve.....

Quran 18:29

no force to make someone believe:

256. There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path.......

Quran 2:256

God telling prophet Muhammad(P) to not put pressure on someone to believe:

99. And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. So, will you (O Muhammad ) then compel mankind, until they become believers.

Quran 10:99
There is no compulsion in Islam. If you look throughout histroy you will see that many people try to force their religion on others. However, in Islam they should not.
no it is not it is absolutely wrong. In ISLAM PROPHET never said that submit to other our PROPHET never force to anyone that come nd join our religion. In ISLAM thereis no compulsion. so how can u said that ISLAM means to make other submit.if u want some more about the ISLAM than go to www.islam.com.
100% your notion is correct..
No, Islam doesn't mean to make others submit, The word ';Islam'; is an Arabic word which means ';submission to the will of God';. This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word ';salam';, which means ';peace';. As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that God revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshiped except for Almighty God, thus all human beings should submit to Him.

Its not true that Muslims forced others to convert when they conquered countries, when Muslims conquered Spain they didn't force anyone to convert, some people converted and some didn't but it was their own free choice, Muslims, Christians and Jewish people lived side by side, and it was a golden age.
Submission to god yes, not to make others submit and no Islam does not force conversion, it is up to individuals to do so at their own accord if they wish.
congratulations on your smart *** post. very witty.

NOT!!!
If you see how muslims try to take over countries, like today. People will summit or reap muslim punishishment. Look at Thiland.
well that was mostly a plitical issue in the past..you cannot tie up that with any religion...for example ottomans stop trying to convert the jewish and christian citizens just because that they have discovered that the tax (cizye) which was collected from nonmuslims was a great income...for 350 years the ';cizye'; tax was the 1\3 of the whole treasure gained each year..it is just a political decision i think..

  • Is it true that the word 'islam' means submission or submit?

if it does then i have to 'islam' my car insurance renewel by the end of the month. Is it true that the word 'islam' means submission or submit?
I think Fred should submit to me.

Hi GroverIs it true that the word 'islam' means submission or submit?
    etymology of Islam: ';religious system revealed by Muhammad,'; 1818, from Arabic, lit. ';submission'; (to the will of God), from root of aslama ';he resigned, he surrendered, he submitted,'; causative conjunction of salima ';he was safe,'; and related to salam ';peace.';

    Islamic is attested from 1791.

Earlier Eng. names for the faith include Muhammadism (1614) and Ismaelism (1604), which in part is from Ishmaelite, a name formerly given (esp. by Jews) to Arabs, as descendants of Ishmael (q.v.), and in part from Arabic Ismailiy, name of the Shiite sect that after 765 C.E. followed the Imamship through descendants of Ismail (Arabic for Ishmael), eldest son of Jafar, the sixth Imam.

The Ismailians were not numerous, but among them were the powerful Fatimid dynasty.

Yes, in Arabic the word ';Islam'; means ';Submission';.

The word Muslim is from the same Arabic root.

';One who submits (to the will of Allah)';.

And you equivocate, my illogical friend!

To equivocate is to use a word in an alternate meaning not appropriate in the particular context of auto insurance.

Of course, you know this and only jest out of a perverse desire to amuse others or just bored, I guess....

There is quite a world of difference between submitting to the lordship or will of another and submitting a term paper or a bill before Congress.

    Capisce?

Now, let's hear no more of this, you INFIDEL before I report you to Osama bin Laden for a little correction.

Of course, I too jest from time to time!

Good luck with your auto insurance.

At least submitting to Allah doesn't cost as much!
Peace and blessings be upon you.

Submit my car for renewal........Asallem my car for renewal.

    Islam.....submission.

    Muslim...the person who submit

    salam....peace

    taslem ....salutation.

It don't need from you to joke.

Islam means submission and when the God created to Adam , adam submitted to him , ';aslam'; to the God or became muslim to the God.

It means submission. That is the literal translation of the Arabic word ';islam';. BTW, the arabic word for submit is sal-lem, so you would have to sal-lem your car insurance renewal by the end of the month.
    hahhahha !!

    no ! Not really !!

Islam is an arabic woed derived from the root Sa-La-Ma

which can give 3 meanings: submission ';surrender '; , Purity ,Peace ...

and this is islam ..Islam means to submit to Allah ..and worship him alone ....

purify your heart from anything that he hates ...

this will lead you to the inner peace that true muslims ';submitters '; know

    Good luck
...Yes Islam is a ';cult'; of submission; orchestrated by a sand-wander who couldn't read or write. God (YHWH) is a Heavenly Father... a loving Father. In all of the ';99' names for ';god'; in the Qu'ran, NOT ';one'; of them ever calls him a loving father ! (Islam to ';that' !)
I think it's more accurately translated as ';cowering in abject terror';. Men cowering in abject terror before God, women cowering in abject terror before men, and non-Muslims cowering in abject terror before Muslims.
The submission, though, is to the will of Allah, not to the insurance company.
    mmmmmmmm

i never heard any one saying that we just use it as its known (religion)

u can say ASALLEM 4 MY CAR RENEWAL INSURANCE if u want that'll work %26amp; that would be formal arabic which no body use but in newspapers
Hey, shut the hell up, fag! You probably use your muppet avatar in an attempt to lure little kids to you. Freakin' pervert!
Yeah, becuase thats what women have to do in that religion.
Islam means ';peace through the submission to God's will';.
This is true. Submit to it 100%
    ive heard that..

Is it true that the effect ';grass is greener on the other side'; means your girl thinks there's someone better?

Is that what it means? My girlfriend broke up with me, but her reasons are unclear. I think she was to let me down easily. So, I send her a letter in which I tell her that I don't have ';grass is greener..'; effect and I ask her if she does, and if so, then I can move on.

Did I use the right context here?Is it true that the effect ';grass is greener on the other side'; means your girl thinks there's someone better?

Being able to turn to them for anything and knowing they will be there. My best friend and I can go months without talking because we both realize we have lives outside of our relationship. However, I know I can call her up after months and months of not talking and she will be there for me and vice versa. What is the meaning of true friendship with best friends?
BEING THEREWhat is the meaning of true friendship with best friends?
loyalty, someone U can tell anything at all and they wont rat on U...
If they have seen your worst and can still accept you.

that's the makings of a true friend.
To tell you when your wrong when it threatens either them or you. And to back you up when you're right.
of course dear. true friends let their neighbors come through the front door. serve them tea even if they have a habbit of spilling it on your hand woven expensive rug.
True frienship is accepting someone even when they do something that you don't agree with. It means being honest and telling them the truth, even if youknow they aren't going to like it.
The meaning is simple.. When you are best friends you are there for each other no matter what the circumstance might be whether good or bad. You suppose to care and love each other, just take care of each other just like family! Basically you should be able to talk about anything to that person! I just hope oneday I will have a best friend.. I miss that so much!
A true friendship with best friends is being able to have somebody there any time of the day any day out of the week. Someone who if you argue you know your friendship ain't over. Someone who no matter what choices you make in life they will be ther to support you or help you in any way they can
true friendship is people that r always there for u u can talk to them about nething n not have to worry about them telling someone also somemeone that u can be your true self around n not have to worry also people that u can just have fun with/ hangout with. all this should go for both people. also honesty even if they wont like it
what knut said...and there arent many people like that
A best friend is someone who accepts you for who you are. (Flaws or no flaws) They love you uncoditionally like a bro or a sis and are always there for you when you need it. They don't backstabb you and enjoy the time spent with you.
you can tell ur bff anything, and they would never tell, and they are always there for u when u need them, and they never will ';diss'; u for the clothes u wear, or the way u look, or how much money u have, or wat stores u shop at, or anything like that. hope that helped!
he/he walks in if all walk out in time of hardships and problems
    HONESTY!
Is when you do whatever you can for your friend. A best friend is someone who will be there whenever you need and for whatever want. Is someone that just want the best 4U always!!!.
Its when someone is there for you at all times .Will talk to you late at night and will come to your aid when you need them you tell them anything and know it will stay with them ..

true frienship between best friends is when you can be yourself, faults and all and they will still love you no matter what. A best friend is a leaning post..they will catch you when you are about to fall, a shoulder to cry on without judgement and someone who you can laugh with and who will be the only one who understands your warped sense of humour and will laugh at your stupid jokes! True frienship is when you can go for weeks or even months without contact but still know that they are there for you when you need them. Atrue best friend will also go out and get you ice cream in the middle of the night when you are pregnant and have cravings(because your partner wont do it!)

And finally a best friend is a friend for life..
    mutual trust and care.
A friend is a person who comes in , when the whole world goes out.

she'll drop everything or anything to be there for you. She truth full, shes

compassionate, and honest and If you find one don't let her or him go.

A summary judgement means the plaintiff has been found innocent TRUE OR FALSE?

falseA summary judgement means the plaintiff has been found innocent TRUE OR FALSE?
    True or false.

not enough information. For example, is this a criminal case or civil? Was the judgement for or against the plaintiff?

If this is a school test, tell the instructure they are an idiot.A summary judgement means the plaintiff has been found innocent TRUE OR FALSE?
The answer is false. This is a 4 part question and of which all parts are false.

First, no one in any type of case can be found Innocent. In a criminal case a defendant can be found guilty or not guilty. There is no Innocent verdict.

Second, a plaintiff cannot be found guilty or not guilty, he or she is bringing the compliant, his or her guilt is not being adjudicated by the court. only a defendant can be found guilty or not guilty.

Third, by using the term plaintiff, you can assume this is a civil case. There is not a plaintiff in a criminal case, all criminal cases are brought by a prosecutor. In a civil case the defendant is found liable or not liable. Again, there is no adjudication of guilt in a civil proceeding, only in criminal proceedings.

Fourth, summary judgment is a motion for which the judge will decide a case by matter of law, i.e., there are no issues of material fact in dispute and there is only one reasonable outcome based on the facts accepted by the court. However, summary judgment can go in favor of either party. Meaning your could have a summary judgment in favor of the plaintiff or the defendant. Therefore, it is not an automatic verdict for the plaintiff.

    Hope this helps.
